Another wonderful trip to the Barrancas del Cobre! Visits of Veracruz

  • The flight arrives on time from Mexico City and I am ready to receive a group of ladies who come to know my state and have the experience of traveling on the only passenger train that exists in Mexico, The Chepe Express!

  • Their package is first class both on the train and the selection of the best hotels on this circuit and so in the city of Chihuahua the hotel to spend two nights is the Central Boutique, in the heart of the city and next to the cathedral.

  • They were welcomed with an exquisite dinner at the best restaurant in Chihuahua, La Casona, where they could also taste the best wine of the house!

Getting to know the city.

  • After enjoying a delicious breakfast, we start a tour to visit the city with its historical monuments, squares, residential areas and viewpoints.

  • Lunch today was at a good restaurant in District 1 and overnight at the Boutique Central with dinner at the same hotel.

Mennonite Camps - Creel.

  • After breakfast we left in our Mercedes Benz Sprinter to Creel and on the way we were already expected at the Mennonite Culture Museum where we had a guided tour, here we tasted the famous cheese and bought nice handicrafts.

  • We arrived in Creel and went to visit whimsical rock formations such as the Valley of the monks, frogs and mushrooms as well as the mission of San Ignacio and the lake of Arareco surrounded by pine forest and framed by interesting rock formations.

  • Overnight at The Lodge at Creel .

  • Dinner was based on wood-fired pizza and craft beer.

Chepe Express to Divisadero

  • Early in the morning I picked them up to take them to the train station to board the first class Chepe Express that in a short trip takes them to El Divisadero passing by the highest point of the trip with more than 2,400 meters above sea level as well as by El Lazo where the train makes a 360º turn*.

  • I was waiting for them with the vehicle in Divisadero to take them to enjoy a country breakfast in one of the most impressive viewpoints of the Barranca del Cobre and while they visited a Raramuri family and made the delivery of groceries I prepared the table and ready the breakfast that they enjoy while enjoying a wonderful view with a silence that allows you to listen to the wind and the singing of the birds.

  • After breakfast and accompanied by Juan, a Raramuri guide, they set off on a hike of more than 2 hours through the canyon until they reached El Divisadero where I was waiting for them with the vehicle. They checked into the hotel El Mirador, each room with a private balcony and a view of the Barranca.

  • After enjoying a delicious meal and resting for a while, we went on an ATV ride to see the barraca from different viewpoints.

  • Undoubtedly a day full of adventures and beautiful experiences.

  • Dinner at the hotel and rest!

Adventure Park

  • After breakfast, we headed to the Adventure Park where they enjoyed the Zip Rider which is one of the longest zip lines in the world, the Via Ferrata, the circuit of 7 zip lines and 2 suspension bridges and the cable car.

  • A morning full of adrenaline!

  • We went back to the hotel for lunch and in the afternoon we made another walk to visit a Raramuri family and to give them a pantry that would certainly help a lot because what they had for dinner was a little bit of beans and a few hard tortillas. Returning to the hotel and almost at sunset the ladies stopped at every moment to admire the ravine and the colors of the sky that was dyed red!

  • We arrived at the hotel to rest on the balcony and enjoy a good house wine before dinner.

Chepe Express to El Fuerte.

  • This morning after breakfast I took them to the train station in El Divisadero where we said goodbye and I returned home to Chihuahua and they boarded the Chepe Express first class to El Fuerte and continue enjoying the only passenger train in Mexico through canyons, bridges and tunnels that offer an amazing journey full of incredible scenery!
